There might be cases that you are reviewing your own report (e.g. doing performance tuning) or reviewing some else report. You basically need to understand how the parameters and mdx work and pass it to SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
1. Start SQL Server Profiler from the Microsoft SQL Server <version>-> Performance Tools Program Group.
2. Click File -> New Trace
3. In the Connect To Server dialog box, choose Analysis Services
4. In the Trace Properties dialog box, click the Event Selection tab. Check the Show All Events and Show All Columns checkboxes.
Tip: You may want to check events particular execute by your name. You can click the Column Filters button. In the Edit Filter dialog box, select NTUserName. Expand the Like tree node on the right and enter your Windows login surrounded by %, e.g. %jhon.sanchez%.
5. In the Trace Properties dialog box, click Run to start the trace.
6. Now run the report whose queries you want to capture and watch the profiler output for a Query Begin event.
7. Copy the result. You can now start to analyze the query and parameters
8. Can connect to SSMS – Analysis DB. Create new MDX query and copy the result, clean-up the query to replace & with & and run the code to test.
